"Will click testing work for me right now?"

It's one of the questions I receive most frequently from authors who are wondering if they're in a position to benefit from this strange-sounding thing called "Click Testing," and whether it would benefit them to enroll in Click Testing for Authors.

I like answering that question by first clarifying what "Click Testing" does for us and our book businesses.

Click testing shows us what our market really likes, wants, and resonates with.

It produces these outcomes for us:

(I say "us" because I use click testing all the time in my businesses, too).

  1. Click testing shows you the best tagline to use in order to reach your ideal readers.
  2. Click testing shows you the best title/subtitle to use in order to reach your ideal readers.
  3. Click testing shows you which of your reader reviews are most compelling for potential new readers.
  4. Click testing shows you the best images to use in your advertisements and on your book pages in order to reach your ideal readers.
  5. Click testing produces stress-tested advertisements to bring in book sales.
  6. Click testing reduces the advertising expense of acquiring new customers from $40-$60 per new customer (and we've seen as high as $100!!) down to $12 to $20 per new customer.
  7. Click testing can help improve your odds by 20X to 100X of writing a commercially viable book, by first finding the best among your many book ideas.
  8. Click testing helps you choose the best title, tagline, description, subtitle, and chapter openings for your new books
  9. Click testing teaches you the ad copy and images that sell more books.
  10. If your ads perform great but your book doesn't sell, you can use click testing to help you discover how to fix your book's marketing pages.
  11. And in those cases when it's necessary, click testing can help guide you to make changes to your books that improve your readers' experience with them.

So in terms of timing, here are the times we've found click testing to be an indispensable component of our businesses:

  • Creating our books (before and during the writing process).
  • Creating our book launch materials.
  • Creating the book advertisements that run every day and bring in profits week over week.
  • Fixing underperforming book sales pages.
  • Fixing underperforming books (bad reviews, slow sales, poor read-through, etc).
  • Testing email headlines, especially for our key revenue drivers.
  • Choosing the best book cover for our new releases.
  • Choosing the best title, subtitle, description, and tagline for our new books.
  • Researching potential nonfiction topics.
  • Improving our marketing copy.
  • Testing our prices.
  • Exploring which branded merchandise products to offer for fans to purchase.
  • Testing copy for our Kickstarter and Patreon pages.
  • etc.

So if you find yourself in one of those situations I mentioned above,

My data suggests you're very likely to benefit from click testing right now.

(My data comes from working with 800+ businesses in 75+ industries, now producing $200M/yr in extra recurring revenue.)

Since my personal and vicarious experience with click testing has been just shy of perfectly positive ("lightning in a bottle," according to Inc 5000 tech founder Erin Athene), I believe it is my job to make the case that...

Every author who is currently earning less than $5M per year can likely benefit from click testing to help improve book quality and financial results.

I also believe it's my job to make click testing as accessible as possible to authors at all stages of their career. So I have priced Click Testing for Authors well below its value.

I'm OK with it if it feels like I'm coming on a little strong.

It's just that I've seen all the good things that inevitably happen when an author / entrepreneur gains a ton of knowledge about what their customers really like and need.

(But I do have to warn you that not all news is welcome news. Sometimes your market has some very sobering things to say about your books.

But wouldn't you rather know, so you can fix them?

And wouldn't it be a lot easier if you had a testing process to guide you from "bad" to "better"?)

I saw click testing save one of my more advanced friends over $500,000 in customer acquisition costs in his first month of using it.

So that's what I have seen to be the value of click testing, and why it has been at the core of everything I've done for the past 7 years.

(and why I built a really kickass course around it)
